Where was the first Botanical Garden in Belgrade?

The first Botanical Garden was built in 1855 in the courtyard of the Residence of Princess Ljubica Obrenović in Belgrade. At the request of the Serbian naturalist Josif Pančić, the Ministry of Education of Serbia determined a place for the Botanical Garden at the end of Dunavska Street in 1874, but it was destroyed in 1877 during the outflow of the Danube.

Today’s Botanical Garden Jevremovac is located in the center of Belgrade (Takovska 43). The Botanical Garden has been located in this area since 1889.
